Amendment 17 the power to elect senators is given to the people, not the states
Amendment 17 is the power of electing your states senators are given to you, the people, rather than the State/Federal Government.

A direct violation of this Amendment is for example if the State/Federal Government took the right of voting away from the people, or simply made their votes much like the Electoral College where it is only the POPULAR vote that they get. If they take away this right, and elect their state senators themselves rather than the people, this is a violation of Amendment 17
